Qualifications: MBBS, MD (Oncology). Dr. Rokaya Sultana Ruma is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Oncology Department at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Shahbag, Dhaka—the premier institution for medical professionals in Bangladesh. Dr. Rokaya was born and raised in the Kurigram district. She completed her MBBS degree at Mymensingh Medical College, Mymensingh, and later earned her prestigious MD in Oncology from BSMMU. Her early career includes work as a Medical Officer in Bhurungamari, Nageshwari, and at the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH). She also served as a Resident Surgeon at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. She joined the BCS Health Cadre in 2008 and provided dedicated patient care before transitioning to BSMMU.
