Rezaul Karim graduated from Mymensingh Medical College in 1988 and did his MS (Ophth) from Dhaka University in 2001 and worked at PG Hospital Dhaka and NIO & Hospital, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka till 1999. between 2007 and 2014 in the United Kingdom (London, England, Wales, and Scotland) including a 2-year Fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, and Squint Surgery. During his Registrar training he got competency in Phaco and Cataract surgery. He passed MRCS (ophthalmology) from Royal College of Edinburgh in 2008, MRCOphth from Royal college of Ophthalmologist, London in 2009 and FRCS (Edin) in 2012. After completing necessary training and fellowship, he became Consultant in Ophthalmology at the Barts & the London NHS Trust Hospitals. And also worked as a ‘Consultant Ophthalmologis’ in the Kings College, Nottingham University Hospital and Oxford University Hospitals, between 2014 and 2021. Now he is back to Bangladesh and has been teaching at DAMC, Medical College, Faridpur as an Hon. Professor. He is a Director and Consultant of Bangladesh Eye Hospital Uttara and Mirpur Branches. His vast clinical experience in the field of Ophthalmology is now been dedicated to the improvement of ophthalmic services in Bangladesh. His field of interest is cataract & Phaco surgery, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, measurements of Squint and all squint surgeries. He has done more than 5,000 cataract surgeries and more than 400 Squints Correction in his carrier.
